ZyXEL Shows Off 3G, WiMAX, and VoIP Offerings at CES 2008

Mobile connectivity is a hot topic at CES 2008. ZyXEL is demonstrating a full line of 3G, WiMAX and VoIP solutions.
The company’s ZyWALL-2WG with 3G cellular connectivity is an ideal secure solution for a variety of mobile applications including Internet access in transit buses and trains. Key features of the ZyWALL-2WG include:

* WCDMA/HSDPA 3G data card support within a PCMCIA slot
* Wi-Fi Certified with 802.11 a/b/g running an Atheros chipset
* ZyNOS ICSA IPSec VPN and Firewall certified
* High-Availability with Redundant IPSec VPN and Dial Backup
* Bridge mode fits broadband networking environment
* Web-based content filtering with Blue Coat service
* Four LAN/DMZ 10/100 auto MDI/MDIX Ethernet ports
* 24Mbps throughput with Firewall and VPN FTTH and ADSL2+

ZyXEL is also gearing up for 4G mobile access with an award winning WiMAX solutions that include MAX100 series PCMCIA cards, ZyXEL’s MAX200 series WiMAX gateway with built-in Wi-Fi and VoIP adapter and an outdoor gateway version, the MAX300 Series.
ZyXEL’s VoIP solutions include a SIP-based camera, the V750W and a dual mode phone, the V660, with cellular and Wi-Fi support.







Zyxel is a veteran of the M-Taiwan program. Taiwan is today demonstarting over 50% of new technologies, CPEs, chipsets and equipment for WiMAX. However its PC cards and MMAX 200 modems with built in gateways take the cake for low cost startup of WiMAX.
